Get sewing in this 2-hour class! We’ve combined the anatomy of a sewing machine with sewing a pillowcase. Learn the proper names of the parts, what they do, how to thread the machine, and sew!

*Includes: fabric, thread, and use of our machine...or you may bring your own machine if you prefer.

Sewing 102 - Straight Market Bag

Barcelona Skirt: Sew Amy Butler's famous skirt!

$110 per student, includes Amy Butler’s Barcelona Skirt pattern, ages 16+.

Are you ready to make a garment? Good for you! Skirts are a really easy way to start and the Barcelona skirt is a great pattern to learn: pattern layout, sewing symbols, and pattern reading. We will be making the A-line (non-layered) skirt in this 3-part class.

*Additional items not included in the class price: please consult the pattern for sizing for amounts of washed, dried, and ironed fabric, muslin, zipper, and matching thread. If you would like to trace your pattern so that you may make multiple sizes then bring tracing paper and a marker. You may use our sewing machine or bring your own.

Love the idea of a reusable bag for shopping? Make one that reflects who you really are! Simple, clean lines make this the perfect bag for all of your toting needs.

*Additional items not included in the class price: 1/2 yd oil cloth, 1/2 yd coordinating cotton fabric, 1/8 yd interfacing. You may use our sewing machine or bring your own.

Ruffle Tee-Shirt Class: Repurposing never looked better!

Wednesday, 2/24 from 4-6pm

$30, ages 16+.

Beginning to intermediate sewing skills.

Take a basic tee-shirt that you like the fit of and bring it up a notch by adding some pretty ruffles!

*Additional items not included in the class price: 1 jersey tee that fits you well, 1 jersey tee in the same or contrasting color to cut up for the ruffles (important that the tees are jersey and not ribbed). You may use our sewing machine or bring your own.

French Memo Board: Functional art for your walls!

Thursday, 2/25 from 6-8pm

$30, ages 12+

No experience required

Looking for a way to spruce up your craft table, cubicle, or dorm room? Do you need a better system for hanging your pictures or post-it notes? Take our French memo board class! We’ll be making these stylish accents out of cork board, fabric, buttons, and batting. In addition to yours completed board, you’ll learn to make your own bias tape and even get to take the staple gun for a whirl!

*Additional items not included in the class price: consult the BNS staff and ask for a supplies list.

1948 Siren Dress: Vintage elegance in a dress!

Thursdays, 3/4, 3/11, & 3/18 from 5:30-7:30pm

$110 per student, includes Decades of Style Siren Dress pattern, ages 16+.

Create an elegant, wrap-around dress that can go from a picnic to a party! Learn to read a pattern, cut out fabric, the use of darts and lining, hemming, and finishing seams. No zippers required!
